Window surface covered with d-c-fix® protective film Static Premium Miraflores for greater privacy.

DIY visual cover: Flower power for more privacy!

Project from Lucy -

The best way to block off curious glances at the windows of your home is Miraflores! This is the name of the modern, wonderful and vibrant d-c-fix® Static Premium protective film, which you can use to easily protect your privacy. Miraflores has a sumptuous, trendy flower design and looks like it has come straight out of a gallery for modern art. The trick of this chic protective film is that it can easily be applied to the whole glass surface without any adhesive – because it sticks statically – and can easily be removed if necessary without leaving any residue. And best of all: Miraflores is fun and a stylish eye-catcher in your home, blocking out peeping eyes wherever you want – windows, glass doors or panels. Here’s how it works.

Chic privacy: These flowers make it possible!

You will need…

  • A roll of d-c-fix® Static Premium Miraflores
  • d-c-fix® application kit with scraper and utility knife
  • Scissors

  • Measuring tape
  • d-c-fix® application fluid / spray bottle with water
  • Cloth (to clean)

Let’s go

Step 1

Measure the dimensions of the glass surface to be covered. Transfer the dimensions onto the backing paper of your Miraflores film. Then cut the film to size, subtracting 2–3 mm distance from the window seals on all sides when cutting.

Step 2

Now it’s time to prepare the window: Thoroughly clean the glass surface so it’s completely free of dust and dirt of any kind. Spray the glass surface generously with the d-c-fix® application fluid or water until the entire surface is well wetted.

Step 3

Detach the backing paper from the opaque Miraflores window film and apply it to the pane – remember to leave enough of a gap from the window seals.

Step 4

When you have the film correctly positioned, use the scraper to squeeze out the water between the glass and the window film. The best way to do this is to lightly press outwards from the center. Finally, use a cloth to wipe the pane dry.

You’re done!
