Shelf box with adhesive foil in wood look and mounted feet for the living room.

New favorite for the living room: the box that can do everything!

Project from Cintia -

You know how it is: magazines, tablet, e-book reader, books, charging cable, etc. – you just want all these things within reach from the sofa in the living room! But it would be far better to have them well tucked away, so that things always look tidy. Our new DIY favorite for the living room really helps: the storage box with its open top compartments is extremely practical for storing things – and looks brilliant in a modern herringbone design! What do you need to create this look? The d-c-fix® Chevron adhesive foil.

You will need…

  • d-c-fix® Chevron adhesive foil
  • d-c-fix® application kit with doctor blade & utility knife
  • Pencil
  • Scissors

  • Yard stick
  • Rule
  • Shelf element (e.g. Ikea Smussla)
  • 4 furniture feet

Let’s go!

And here’s how the ingenious organizer for the living room works:

Preparation

You have everything you need? Then get started!

Step 1

Clean all surfaces of the shelf with a cloth.

Step 2

Now measure all the sides to be covered.

Step 3

Transfer the dimensions in pencil to the back of the d-c-fix® Chevron adhesive foil allowing for a little extra.

Step 4

Using the utility knife and with the help of a rule, cut the foil along the marking.

Step 5

Now remove the backing paper from the piece of foil.

Step 6

Apply the foil to the shelf and smooth it firmly into place on the surface using the doctor blade.

Step 7

Protruding foil is cut off along the edge using the utility knife.

You’re done!
