Bedroom window partly covered in milky window foil with white wavy lines

Bye-bye neighbors: the DIY project against prying eyes in the bedroom!

Project from Chris -

Sounds familiar? The sun shines through the bedroom window: wonderful! The neighbor from diagonally above opposite also looks in – no way! Now you can show inquisitive looks into your home the red card. How? With a homemade privacy screen that works well and is simply applied to the bedroom window. Want more good news? OK: the statically adhesive Static Waves privacy foil from d-c-fix® also looks really good with the clean white wavy lines on a milky background. So what are you waiting for: give yourself more privacy and start the Static Waves DIY!

You will need…

  • d-c-fix® Static Waves
  • d-c-fix® application kit with doctor blade & utility knife
  • d-c-fix® application fluid or spray bottle with water
  • Pencil

  • Scale
  • Ruler
  • Cloth

Let’s go!

Here are the instructions for the DIY privacy screen

Step 1

First, measure the window area that is to be made opaque. Then cut the Static Waves privacy foil accordingly.

Step 2

Thoroughly clean the window and wipe it dry. Then moisten the glass surface well using the spray bottle.

Step 3

Remove the backing paper from the cut piece of Static Waves foil.

Step 4

Apply window foil to the edge of the glass surface.

Step 5

Press the foil on by hand and then squeeze out the excess water between the foil and the window pane using the doctor blade.

Step 6

Finally, rub the window dry using a cloth.

You’re done!
