DIY privacy screen: Say good-bye to prying eyes staring in your windows!

Project from Cintia -

You love working at your favorite spot right at the window. It’s your happy place for studying, reading and relaxing. Where mornings you can enjoy the rays of sunshine streaming into your kitchen. And your firm principle is: No curtains, frills or knick-knacks on your windows. Yet, maintaining your privacy at windows is a tricky matter, as there are always people who curiously glance or blatantly stare, especially into your kitchen, home office, bedroom or bathroom. So, what can you do to stop it?

We have the chic solution for ensuring you privacy at your windows – one that takes nature as its model, with densely grown foliage tendrils for privacy and visual security: Stylish in design and modernly implemented with the new static d-c-fix® Jane window film. This thin laminate makes those critical window surfaces “peep-proof” impervious to prying eyes – and it’s application by static adhesion lets you remove it easily and quickly whenever you want. It’s the perfect solution for anyone living in rental accommodations, as you can simply peel the privacy screen away from the window surfaces when you move out.

For now, however, we hope you enjoy peep-proofing your windows with d-c-fix® static premium Jane window film!

You will need…

  • One roll of d-c-fix® static premium Jane window film
  • d-c-fix® application kit with squeegee and cutter knife
  • Scissors
  • Measuring tape
  • One bottle of d-c-fix® application fluid
  • A cleaning cloth

Let’s go

Step 1

Measure the dimensions of the glass surface that you want to make peep-proof using d-c-fix® static premium Jane window film. Then cut the film piece to size, taking 2 to 3 mm off the edges to ensure a small gap between the outer edge of the film and the window seals.

Step 2

Clean the glass surface thoroughly so that it’s entirely free of dirt and grease. Then spray the glass surface generously with the d-c-fix® application fluid until the entire surface area is wetted.

Step 3

Now, remove the backing paper from the peep-proof window film and place your piece of film on the window pane. Remember to leave a slight gap between the outer edge of the film and the window seals.

Step 4

When you have the film in the correct position, use the squeegee to begin scraping the application fluid outwards from between the glass surface and the window film. This works best with motions from the inside outward.

To finish, use the cloth to dry the window surface – and you’re done!

You’re done!
