Summer hack for windows: the right dose of sun for the home!

Project from Chris -

Summer & sunshine – that’s good for body and soul. However, it depends on the dose, because too much sun can be strenuous – especially when it blazes through the window, dazzles and generates unpleasant heat. And what do we do when sunlight stresses us out? We put on our sunglasses. This is the principle on which the d-c-fix® static sun protective foil for window surfaces at home works: simply applied to window panes thanks to static adhesion, the foil acts effectively just like sunglasses. It reduces solar radiation and thus creates a new comfort zone at window areas.

You will need…

  • d-c-fix® static sun protective foil
  • d-c-fix® application kit with doctor blade & utility knife
  • d-c-fix® application fluid or spray bottle with water
  • Pencil

  • Yard stick
  • Rule
  • Cloth

Preparation

You have everything you need? Then get started!

Step 1

Determine the dimensions of the window surface that you want to apply the sun protective foil to.

Step 2

Transfer the dimensions to the back of the foil and cut it to size.

Step 3

For application of the foil, now spray the window evenly with water.

Step 4

Peel off the backing paper of the sun protective foil.

Step 5

Place the sun protective foil on one corner of the window surface.

Step 6

Use the doctor blade to smooth out the trapped moisture under the foil, which ensures good adhesion of the sun protective foil to the glass surface.

Step 7

Finally, use the cloth to absorb the wetness at the edges of the window and wipe everything well dry.

You’re done!
