Boho DIY: Flower pot with a geometric pattern

Farewell winter blues: we’re moving on to luscious green! Now in the winter, we all love to see fresh, vibrant shades of green in the comfort of our homes. And since Easter is still a while away, now is the perfect time to create a fancy little home for your houseplants: using chic DIY flowerpots and cool geometric patterns.

And if you still have scraps of d-c-fix® adhesive foils from previous DIY projects – then all the better! Now you can make good use of them!

You will need…

Several rolls of d-c-fix® plain lacquer in different colors or foil scraps
A roll of d-c-fix® plain lacquer in white
A d-c-fix® tool kit with doctor blade and cutter knife

4 MDF panels 12 x 12 cm, thickness of 3 mm
1 MDF panel 12,6 x 12,6 cm, thickness of 3 mm
Wood glue
Scissors
Pencil

Let’s go

Step 1

First you need to glue the 4 square side plates (12 x 12 cm) together at the corners with wood glue and then allow the resulting housing to dry thoroughly. Next, glue the base plate to the wooden housing.

Step 2

Now, transfer the dimensions of your plant pot to the backing paper of the white adhesive foil and cut the piece of foil to size.

Step 3

For the “facade work” you just peel off the backing paper and apply the adhesive foil with the doctor blade around the plant pot. The best way to do this is to exert a little bit more pressure on each edge to ensure that the edges are taped over cleanly and firmly.

Step 4

Now for your personal design fine-tuning: Cut out stripes, geometric shapes and patterns from your colorful adhesive foils and stick them onto your planter. Now you have a stylish home for your plant!
