DIY privacy screen for windows: Bye-bye, prying eyes!

Project from Angelina -

Neighbors or roommates often see more of you than you’d like – especially if you live in a city, in a rented apartment, or a shared apartment or house.

Are you looking for an effective privacy screen for your windows that looks good, but without too much effort or expense? And without any curtains or blinds, etc.?

Then we’ve got just the thing for you: Tulia self-adhesive glass film from d-c-fix® will give you extra privacy at your windows or glass inserts in doors. With this window film, your privacy problems will be a thing of the past: Simply attach it to the glass surfaces where you want privacy protection – and you’re DONE! And best of all: The window film can be easily removed without any residue, keeping both you and your landlord happy. It couldn’t be easier!

You will need…

  • One roll of d-c-fix® Antwerpen static glass film
  • Spray bottle with water
  • d-c-fix® tool kit with squeegee and cutter
  • Ruler (metal)
  • Pencil
  • Measuring tape
  • Soft cloth

Let’s go

Step 1

Let’s get measuring: Measure your window surface areas and note down the dimensions.

Step 2

Then cut the film to size: Make sure to cut all pieces of film 2-3 mm narrower than the window width and length you measured.

Step 3

Once you have all the film cut to the right size and ready for fitting, spray your first window surface with water. Then peel off the protective backing from the cut piece of film and place it at a distance of 2 mm from the window frame.

Step 4

Now press the privacy screen film onto the window from the top to the bottom, then use the squeegee to spread it out towards the edges, starting in the middle. To finish, use a soft cloth to wipe your freshly covered window surface smooth and dry – and you’re done!

You’re done!
