Decoration tutorial: A floral gift with heart!

Project from Cintia -

Let’s be honest: It’s often the small things that bring you joy – especially small things that are made with passion. Like our great DIY decoration idea that can not only be used to decorate any festive table, but also makes a fine little gift. No matter whether it’s a family celebration, birthday, anniversary or a wedding that’s coming up soon: With the DIY heart made of wood with integrated test tube that can be used as a vase for flowers, you can’t go wrong – as a decoration, a hostess gift or a little something for the birthday boy or girl or your host – with a lot of heart!

You will need…

  • d-c-fix® Signal Red
  • Plywood heart
  • Test tube
  • Drill
  • Forstner bit 20 mm

  • Sandpaper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Utility knife
  • Smoothing blade

Let’s go

Step 1

Mount the Forstner bit on the drill and drill a hole in the prefabricated plywood heart. Smooth the edges with fine sandpaper.

Step 2

Cut the adhesive foil in signal red generously so that it overlaps the edges of the heart.

Step 3

Peel off the backing paper of the adhesive foil and apply it to the wood using the smoothing blade.

Step 4

Now use the utility knife to cut off the excess adhesive foil around the heart.

Step 5

Now use the utility knife to remove the adhesive foil from the drilled hole.

Step 6

As a decorative finish, insert the small test tube into the opening, fill with water and decorate with freshly cut flowers.

You’re done!

A roll of red adhesive foil, plywood heart, test tube, drill with Forstner bit, sandpaper, pencil, scissors, utility knife and smoothing blade lie on a cutting mat
