Create a beautiful privacy screen for your balcony door in 5 steps

Project from Chris -

Transform your balcony door into a real eye-catcher in no time at all with a few simple DIY ideas that will also protect you from your neighbours’ prying eyes. You can see in the following 5 simple steps how you can easily copy this yourself and ensure you have greater privacy in your own home.

You will need…

  • A roll of d-c-fix® static Premium Perth 67.5 cm x 150 cm (F3348036); → widths of 45 cm x 150 cm and 90 cm x 150 cm are also available
  • d-c-fix® application kit (squeegee and cutter)
  • Scissors

  • Tape measure
  • Spray bottle with water
  • Cloth

Let’s go

Step 1
First of all measure your window and cut the adhesive film accordingly. It is important that you allow a gap of 2-3 mm from the window frame or seal.

Step 2
Then thoroughly clean your window. It must be complete free of dust and grease residues. After cleaning, spray your window with sufficient water – because the static adhesive films will not adhere to the window without water.

Step 3
Now you can remove the protective film from the back of the printed film. Then apply the film to the window with light pressure. You can now still slide the film into the correct position thanks to the water.

Step 4

Now use the squeegee to remove the water from under the film. It’s best to always work from the centre outwards to avoid air pockets.

Step 5
Finally, simply rub the window dry with a cloth and your balcony door will gleam in a completely new light.

You’re done!
