DIY upcycling: Chic new boho look for your chest of drawers!

Project from Angelina -

There it is. You like it. It’s sturdy, practical. But in terms of looks it’s definitely not up-to-date: your old chest of drawers! Whether it’s an heirloom, found object, flea market bargain or a leftover from the previous tenant, the time has come to upcycle your faithful friend in the on-trend boho interior look. With the d-c-fix® Plain Black and Ribbeck Oak decorative adhesive films, you’ll give your furniture an amazing makeover with laid-back patterns.

Watch out, this one is a real show-stopper: You’re sure to fall in love with your new boho chest of drawers!

You will need…

  • One roll of d-c-fix® Plain Black
  • One roll of d-c-fix® Ribbeck Oak
  • d-c-fix® tool kit with squeegee and cutter
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Measuring tape

Let’s go

Step 1

Draw the triangles for the design of the fox on the cork boards as shown here.

Step 2

Cut the various triangles out of the cork using the utility knife.

Step 3

Now determine the measurements for the white adhesive foil accents for the ears, chin, chest and tail and transfer them to the backing paper of the white adhesive foil. Cut out the pieces of foil and stick them to the cork plates in the appropriate position.

Step 4

You can cut off any adhesive foil that protrudes from the edges with the utility knife. To finish, attach the decorated cork pinboard element to the wall.

You’re done!
